Meet LET’S PLAY TENNIS SLOVAKIA

We are
  • a civic association established to support young and talented tennis players in Slovakia in the age range 10-15yrs old
  • headed by the most successful tennis coach in the world, Marián Vajda, and supported by other great tennis figures, namely Miloslav Mečíř, Branislav Stankovič and Filip Polášek
  • cooperating with selected professionals and experts in fitness, physiotherapy and psychology

He is an active entrepreneur in the steel industry and investor in a variety of different projects but overall he is a long-term tennis enthusiast and supporter of the extraordinary. He established Nadácia Sovereign Invest foundation which currently is the chief donor to the LPTS project.

Marián Vajda

Marián Vajda

Marián Vajda is a former Slovak professional tennis player. He reached his career-high ranking of world no. 34 on September 19, 1987. During his tennis career, he won two ATP singles tournaments. He represented Czechoslovakia at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. He is a former coach of the Slovak Davis Cup team and a former captain of the Slovak Fed Cup team. He currently coaches the Serbian tennis player Novak Djoković. Marián is a
member of the Slovak Tennis Hall of Fame.

Miloslav Mečíř

Miloslav Mečíř

Miloslav Mečíř is a former Slovak professional tennis player and an Olympic winner in Seoul 1988. He has won 11 titles on the ATP tour during his tennis career. Miloslav achieved a career-high singles ranking of world no. 4 on February 22, 1988. After retiring from tennis, he acted as a non-playing captain of the Slovak Davis Cup team, during which the team reached the Davis Cup finals in 2005. Miloš was honoured with 2nd class Order of Ľudovít Štúr in 2004 and 1st class Order of Ľudovít Štúr in 2006, both by the Slovak president Ivan Gašparovič. Miloslav is a
member of the Slovak Tennis Hall of Fame.

Branislav Stankovič

Branislav Stankovič

Branislav Stankovič is a former professional player who became the coach of the Slovak Davis Cup team and the closest collaborator of Miloš Mečíř, the captain of the Davis Cup team. At the same time, Branislav worked as a personal coach for several tennis players, including Karol Kučera and Karina Habšudová - both being players of the world top ten in the second half of the 1990s - and another Slovak Davis Cup team representative Ján Krošlák. Branislav is a
member of the Slovak Tennis Hall of Fame.

POLÁŠEK

Filip Polášek

Filip Polášek

Filip Polášek is a Slovak professional tennis player, primarily a doubles specialist reaching career-high ranking of world no. 7 on February 3, 2020 in doubles. He retired from playing tennis actively in 2013 due to spine problems. After meeting Mike Bryan, he returned to tennis courts in June 2018. Already in August 2019, he won the Cincinnati Masters title. Overall, he has won 14 ATP tournament titles and has participated twice in Grand Slam semi-finals. He played 16 matches for the Slovak Davis Cup team and is a participant of the London Championship Tournament. He acted as the chief coach at the HTC Piešťany Tennis Complex for three years, dedicating his time to work with youth.
